Pemberton senior Jaden Goins ran the 8th-fastest 55 in Burlington County history Sunday at the Stanner Games at the Armory.
Goins had a dash PR of 6.83 coming into the indoor season from last January at the Armory. He dropped to 6.54 at the Armory in his 2026 debut in December before running 6.45 to win the 55 Sunday.
Goins outraced Jalen Josey of Holy Trinity in Hicksville, N.Y., who was 2nd in 6.50, and Maximillian Wickrath of Minisink Valley in Slate Hill, N.Y., who ran 6.51.
The fastest previous time I could find for a Pemberton sprinter was 6.64 by Quincey Lambert at the 2013 South Jersey Group 2 meet at the Bubble.
His time is No. 22 in South Jersey history but only 5-100ths outside the all-time top-10, which goes down to 6.40.
Goins’ is 2nd-fastest in New Jersey this year, behind only 2025 Meet of Champion 100 winner Jevon Ledgister of St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City, who ran a U.S. No. 4 6.31 last month at Ocean Breeze.
The most notable Pemberton sprinter is Bobby Orro, who won the Meet of Champions 100 in 1993 in 10.66. But Orro never competed indoors. Orro went on to play football and run track at Rutgers. Orro ran 6.85 and placed 3rd at the 1999 IC4A in Boston, still 10th-fastest in Rutgers history.
Goins placed 5th in the 100 at the state Group 2 meet in South Plainfield last spring and had a wind-legal best of 11.06 at S.J. Group 2 sectionals at Delsea.
