St. Augustine senior Marc Maccario broke 50 seconds for the first time indoors and ran the 6^th-fastest indoor 400 in Atlantic County history at the Ott Center.

Maccario placed 6^th in a hot 400 at the La Salle Winter Series Boys Sprint Night, running 49.34. His previous indoor PR was a 50.26 on the same track last January. His 49.34 is fastest this year by a South Jersey quarter-miler and 5^th-fastest in New Jersey.

After winning the 400 at the state indoor meet last year in 51.35, Maccario ran 48.33 last spring, fastest by an Atlantic County underclassman in 26 years. He won the state Parochial A title and finished 7^th in the Meet of Champions.
