Junior Sheldon Goldsborough came within 1 ¾ inches of becoming Delsea’s latest 50-foot shot putter Monday in Marlton.
Goldsborough, who placed 4th at South Jersey Group 1 sectionals last year as a sophomore at Schalick, threw a big PR 49-10 ¾ to win the Cherokee Throwdown.
Goldsborough had an outdoor PR last year of 47-5 ½ from the Woodbury Relays and went on to place 4th at South Jersey Group 1 sectionals at Pennsauken at 45-7 ½.
His previous indoor PR looks like 43-9 from a meet this past January at the Bubble.
