Deptford led four schools who ran 1:31 and change in the 4-by-200 Saturday at the initial South Jersey Track Coaches Association meet at the Ott Center in West Philly.
Deptford won the race in 1:31.04, Williamstown ran 1:31.33, Rancocas Valley 1:31.52 and Overbrook 1:31.81.
Overbrook and R.V. ran in the 3rd section, Deptford and Williamstown in the 4th.
Senior Kareem Brown, senior Kyle Jackson, junior Xavion Holmes and Damon Albertson ran for senior Deptford; senior Jasiah Gibbons, junior Joshua George-Oyewole, sophomore Elijah Campbell and junior Ian Israel Jr. for Williamstown; senior Julian Coopage-Seepersaud, junior Samir Barber, junior Ethan Jones and junior Jor-el Santiago for Rancocas Valley; and junior Axcel Bailey, junior John Froelich, senior Anthony Powell and junior Jaiden Mitchell for Overbrook.
For Williamstown and Overbrook, those performances are school records. Williamstown’s previous school record was 1:32.33 this past January at the Ott Center. Overbrook’s school record was 1:33.45 in 2016 at Ocean Breeze with Quincy Fairey, Tevin Taylor, Jermaine Corbett and Nykols Rodriguez.
Deptford and R.V. have both run sub-1:30 several times.
