Shawnee alum Jason Richwall finishes 6th in 25-29 age group, top-20 overall at Philly Half!!!!!!!!

Former Shawnee runner Jason Richwall placed 6th in the 25-29 age group and 18th overall out of more than 5,000 runners Saturday morning at the Philadelphia Half Marathon.

Richwall, 27, covered the 13.1-mile course in 1:12.46. He placed 16th out of 5,193 men and 6th out of 1,164 in the 25-29 age group.

Richwall graduated in 2016 from Shawnee, where he had PRs of 4:36.97 and 9:50.82, and ran for Muhlenberg, where he ran 8:34.90 for 3,000 meters in Lancaster and 15:02.58 in Collegeville.

Jacob Shoemaker of Haddon Township, 41, ran 1:16.58 and placed 3rd out of 448 runners in the 40-44 age group and 40th overall. Shoemaker ran for Dartmouth, where he ran 9:16.26 in the steeplechase in a meet at Princeton. He ran scholastically at Lincoln-Sudbury in Sudbury, Mass.

Also among the top 100 men were Omar Abdelhamid of Cherry Hill [2nd in 45-49 in 1:1.39, 7th overall] and Patrick Storti of Cinnaminson [2th in 20-24 age group, 84th overall].

There’s no record I could find of Abdelhamid running in high school or college, although he may have. Storti, a 2023 Cinnaminson graduate, was on the 2022 Cinnaminson XC team that placed 2nd at both South Jersey Group 2 sectionals and Group 2 states and 12th at the Meet of Champions. He currently runs for Stockton University in Galloway Township.

Top South Jersey woman was Erin Guilfoyle of Burlington, who was 14th in the 20-24 age group in 1:30.28 (nearly 16 minutes faster than her clock time!). Rancocas Valley graduate Abby Boggs ran 1:32.56 and placed 22nd in the 20-24 division.

Guilfoyle graduated in 2020 from Burlington Township and attended West Chester. If appears she didn’t run at either school. Boggs was 2021 South Jersey Group 4 pole vault champ at 11-6 and a conference medalistt in both the vault and heptathlon and pentathlon at Monmouth.
