Seniors Jacob Marino and Karson Chew and junior David Farrell swept the top three spots and Woodstown won the boys title at the Salem County Championships Wednesday in Pittsgrove Township.
Marino ran 16:37, Chew 16:58 and Farrell 17:19 and Woodstown beat Schalick 21-47, with Salem Tech 3rd with 77 points.
Schalick was led by junior Colin Bittle, senior Sal Longo and senior Chase Riley, who took 4th, 5th and 6th in 17:31, 17:33 and 17:44.
Then Woodstown filled up the rest of the top 10, with junior Pacey Hutton 7th in 18:08, sophomore Torsten Duva 8th in 18:22, junior Jackson Perry 9th in 18:23 and sophomore John Hearst 10th in 18:31.
In the girls meet, sophomore Abby Marino and junior Anabel Schaal of Woodstown finished 1-2 in 19:59 and 21:33, but Schalick edged Woodstown 28-32 to win the team title, with Salem Tech 3rd with 77.
Schalick placed five in the top nine, with junior Helen Lillia [3rd in 21:46], sophomore Emma Cain [5th in 23:17], freshman Paetyn Wallace [7th in 24:52], junior Sarah Torpey [8th in 24:55] and freshman Emma Wilbur [9th in 25:02.
Also in the top 10: Pennsville sophomore Sawyer Slad [4th in 22:20], Woodstown senior Arianna Mott [6th in 23:54] and Woodstown sophomore Kiera Porch [10th in 25:30]
