Rowan freshman Nyla Jones from Timber Creek will race in the 400-meter hurdles final at NCAA Division 3 Championships Saturday.
Jones, who set an NJAC record of 1:00.42 earlier this month in Ewing, ran 1:02.36 in the semifinals. The final is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. Saturday at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
Jones is bidding to become Rowan’s first All-America in the 400 hurdles in 32 years, since Laiton Roberts from Oakcrest placed 3rd with a 1:025.57 at 1993 Nationals at Baldwin-Wallace University in Berea, Ohio.
Jones is one of only two freshmen in the 400 hurdles final. She’ll be in Lane 1.
