The Winslow Township, Pennsauken and Willingboro girls re-wrote the South Jersey record book in the 800-meter relay Saturday morning at the Woodbury Relays, with all three posting all-time South Jersey top-10 times..
Sophomore Maya Bolden, junior Aaliyah Robinson, junior Kaila Speight and senior Nester Wea won the Group 2 race in 1:40.11, 10th-fastest in South Jersey history. They broke the Group 2 meet record of 1:41.85 set by Deptford’s Sundasia Baker, Taylor Ransom, Kayla Tucker and Kiara Lester in 2015. Their time is 2nd-fastest in Burlington County history, behind only Willingboro’s own 1:39.78 last year at West Philly Nationals.
In Group 3, Winslow’s Okaro, Cato, Seamon and Robinson won in 1:38.55, 2nd-fastest in South Jersey history and 8th-fastest in state history. They broke the Group 3 meet record of 1:39.59 set by Winslow’s DeAnn Cross, Torie Robinson, Stey’ce McNeil and Christine Oguledo in 2012.
In Group 4, Pennsauken won in 1:39.65, 5th-fastest in state history and 14th-fastest on the all-time New Jersey list. Senior Amina Dyer, junior Sanaya Dupree, junior Olivia Dupree and junior Sianni Wynn ran for Pennsauken. Eastern was 2nd in 1:41.48 with senior Johnna Gonter, senior Jasmine Davies, junior Natalie Dumas and senior Samantha Osei-Kyei. Their time is No. 24 in South Jersey history. They broke the Group 4 meet record of 1:41.97 set by Eastern’s Janelle Wilson, Jennifer Jackson, Sharon Heilig and Brittany Wright in 2002.
Winslow, Pennsauken, Willingboro and Eastern are now No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 in New Jersey this year, pending other results from Saturday.
