Ian Moore from Rancocas Valley ran the 4th-fastest 800 in Monmouth history at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University.
Moore ran 1:50.34, lowering his PR from 1:50.52, which he ran at the outdoor Colonial Athletic Conference meet in Elon, N.C., in May. His previous indoor PR was a 1:51.11 at the Ott Center in January.
Moore was out in 26.61, came through 400 in 53.36 and 600 in 1:21.02. His time is fastest by a Monmouth half-miler in seven years, since Chris Marco from Toms River South ran 1:50.07 on the same track in 2018.
Moore’s time is fastest by a Burlington County 800 runner since Rob Novak ran a South Jersey-alumni-record 1:46.01 in Los Angeles in 2011.
Monmouth competes in the CAA Championships this week in Virginia Beach.
