Rowan’s Kwaku Nkrumah blazes to No. 10 hurdles mark in NCAA Division 3 history!!!!!!!!

Rowan junior Kwaku Nkrumah, the NCAA Division 3 national champion over the 110-meter high hurdles in the spring, blasted an indoor hurdles PR and the No. 10 mark in Division 3 history Saturday at Ocean Breeze.

Nkrumah lowered his PR from 7.92 to 7.90 at the NYC Gotham Cup. Here’s a look at the all-time D-3 hurdles list.

Post-grad Edward Williams, a former IC4A champ at Central Connecticut, won the race in 7.86. Nkrumah was 2nd and Sterling grad Marquise Young placed 3rd in 7.99, just off his lifetime best of 7.96 from last year on the same track. That’s No. 16 in D-3 history.

Rowan sophomore Jason Agyemang from North Plainfield was 4th in 8.23 and junior Michael Lawrence from South Plainfield 6th with a PR 8.28.

Rowan freshman Jamir Brown, the NCAA D-3 record holder with his 7.72 last month, ran 8.17 in the trials and qualified for the final but didn’t finish.

Brown is No. 1 this year in Division 3, Nkrumah No. 3 and Young No. 4.

Here’s my best attempt at an all-time Rowan sub-8.10 list:
7.72 … Jamir Brown [Riverside], 2025 [Staten Island, N.Y.]
7.90 … Kwaku Nkrumah [Teaneck], 2025 [Staten Island, N.Y.]
7.96 … Marquis Young [Sterling], 2024 [Staten Island, N.Y.]
7.98 … David Benjamin [Freehold Twp.], 2017 [Naperville, Ill.]
8.01 … Bobby Cooks [McArthur, Pembroke Pines, Fla.], 2018 [Ithaca, N.Y.]
8.07 … Jacob Kiyler [Toms River North], 2024 [Staten Island, N.Y.]
8.08 … Jason Agyemang [North Plainfield], 2024 [Rochester, N.Y.]
