Glassboro senior Ty Blackman ran a big 3,200 PR and the fastest Group 1 time in New Jersey this year Saturday at the Armory.
Blackman ran 9:27.06 on the way to a 9:30.14 full two-mile at the Refuel with Chocolate Milk Officials Hall of Fame Invitational.
His previous indoor PR for 3,200 was a 9:54.19 at the Bubble last January. His overall best was a 9:42.32 when he placed 2nd to Peyton Shute of Woodbury at the South Jersey Group 1 sectionals at Pennsauken this past June.
Blackman’s time is 5th-fastest on the all-time South Jerey Group 1 indoor list and No. 11 all-time on the Gloucester County list, just a second out of the top 10.
His time is also No. 2 in New Jersey this year, behind Montville senior Alex Pelov, who ran 9:25.22 in a meet last month at Drew University in Madison.
Blackman also PRd with a 4:29.65 for the full mile in a meet at the Ott Center.
