Winslow’s Ma’syiah Brawner pops No. 3 triple jump in South Jersey indoor history at the Armory!!!!!!

Winslow junior Ma’syiah Brawner recorded the No. 3 indoor triple jump in South Jersey history Saturday at the Hispanic Games at the Armory.

Brawner sailed 39-4 to win the event by more than a foot over Seannah Parsons of Randolph, who was 2nd at 38-0. Last spring, Brawner won the outdoor Meet of Champions and Parsons was 3rd.

With her 39-4, Brawner moves up to No. 15 in state history. It’s the No. 1 jump this year in New Jersey and No. 13 nationally, according to the MileSplit U.S. database.

Brawner also had a 39-2 in her series, as well as a 38-5 ½ and a 38-4. So she had the four-best jumps of the competition.

The versatile Brawner won both horizontal jumps and placed 2nd in the high jump and 5th in the hurdles at the state Group 3 meet last year.

Brawner extended her own Camden County indoor record and trails only Sophia Curtis of Ocean City and Claudine Smith of Atlantic City on the all-time South Jersey list. Curtis jumped 41-3 ¼ when she placed 3rd at 2023 Boston Nationals, and Smith jumped 40-1 ½ when she placed 5th at 2019 Armory Nationals.

Brawner has an outdoor PR of 40-6 ½ from West Philly Nationals this past June at Franklin Field. That’s No. 4 in South Jersey history outdoors.

Brawner also has PRs of 19-7 1/2 in the long jump, 7.64 in the 55 and 8.45 in the 55-meter hurdles.
