Mainland Regional senior Josiah Williams PR’d in the hurdles, set an indoor PR in the triple jump and tied his indoor PR in the long jump Saturday in a triple win at the SJTCA meet at the Ott Center in West Philly.
Williams won the 55-meter hurdles in 7.77, breaking his PR of 7.90 that he just set last weekend at the Ott Center. He won the triple jump at 44-9 ¾, breaking his indoor PR of 44-7 from a meet this past February at Ocean Breeze. And he won the long jump at 21-0 ¾, tying his indoor best from Easterns at the Armory this past February.
The 44-9 broke his own Atlantic County record and is No. 18 in South Jersey history.
Williams’ overall horizontal jump PRs are 21-7 ¾ at South Jersey Group 3 sectionals at Delsea last spring and 45-4 ¾ from the 2022 state Group 3 meet, also at Delsea.
The 7.77 is No. 2 this year in South Jersey, behind a 7.66 by Deptford’s Ryan Sanchez last month at the Ott. The 21-0 ¾ is No. 3 in South Jersey, and his 44-9 is No. 1 in New Jersey this year.
