Deptford’s Julian Rodriguez posts #3 all-time pole vault in Georgian Court history!!!!!!

Versatile Georgian Court senior Julian Rodriguez, a Deptford graduate, is already the school record holder in the intermediate hurdles and moved into the No. 3 spot in the pole vault in his season-opening meet.

Rodriguez cleared 14-5 ¼ at the Fastrack Season Opener at Ocean Breeze and trails only Jan Volkmar [16-6 ¾ in 2023] and Evan Boyce [14-11 in 2019] on the all-time Georgian Court performance list.

Rodriguez did not compete last spring and didn’t compete after mid-January last year, so it was his 1st meet in about 11 months and only his 2nd since the end of the 2023 outdoor season.

Rodriguez set the school record of 54.15 in the intermediates when he placed 3rd at the 2023 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships in Lakewood. He’s also 6th in school history in the 110-meter highs [15.54] and10th in the triple jump [40-1 ¼] and ran the third leg on the school-record 400-meter relay, a 42.55 at Shippensburg back in 2022.

Indoors, he ranks 6th in the 60 hurdles [8.67], 7th in the high jump [5-10 ¾], 8th in the long jump [21-2 ¾] and 3rd in the pole vault [14-5 ¼].

Georgian Court head coach Mike Murawski is a Cinnaminson native and Holy Cross graduate. He was a two-time state Parochial A high jump champ for the Lancers and he holds Duqesne school records in the high jump [6-8 ¼] and decathlon [6,140].

Considering Rodriguez’s versatility and Murawski’s background, it wouldn’t be surprising if there’s a multi in Rodriguez’s future.
