Haddonfield graduate Ian Romea, a sophomore at St. Joe’s, placed 4th out of 51 runners Saturday at the Haverford Invitational.
Romea ran 20:28 over four miles and finished just 20 seconds behind winner William Shaughnessy, a senior at Penn. That’s 15:51 pace for 5K over an extra 9-10ths of a mile.
Colton Johnson, a St. Joe’s senior from Paul VI, placed 13th in 21:00.
St. Joe’s races at the Atlantic 10 Championships Saturday at Pole Green Park in Hanover County, Va., outside Mechanicsville. The last South Jersey runner to win the A-10 title was Eastern’s Karl Savage of St. Joe’s .
