Terrific race Saturday morning for La Salle freshman Gillian Lovett in her first collegiate 6,000-meter race.
Lovett, a Mainland Regional graduate, ran 22:24 and placed 38th of nearly 500 runners in the open women’s race at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh’s south campus in Bethlehem and Lower Saucon Township.
Her time is 18:40 pace for 5,000 meters with another 1,000 tacked on at the end. In her only previous collegiate 5,000 she ran 19:13 last month at Haverford.
Delaware freshman Kadence Dumas from Eastern was 53rd in 22:48 in her first collegiate 6,000, and Middlebury sophomore Stephanie Renouf from Cinnaminson ran 23:17 and placed 104th.
