Tucker, a freshman, ran 51.54 for the 5th-fastest qualifying time. That’s only 8-100ths of a second off his college PR of 54.46 from a meet last month in Columbia, S.C. Tucker ran 50.96 last June when he won his 3rd straight Meet of Champions.

Brown ran 52.17 and was the 7th-fastest of the nine qualifiers and 2nd-fastest among freshmen. So the two-fastest freshman intermediate hurdlers in the Big Ten are from South Jersey. Brown was only 1-100th of a second off his PR of 52.16 from a meet last month in Tampa.

The intermediate hurdles final is scheduled for 2:28 p.m. on Sunday back at the University of Michigan Track Stadium.
