Nice 400 PR Sunday at Bucknell from Michael Mazero, a Cornell sophomore from Mullica Hill and Paul VI.
Mazero ran 47.89 to win the second section of the 400-meter dash at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic at Christy Mathewson Memorial Stadium in Lewisburg, Pa., and his time held up for 5th-fastest overall out of nearly 100 runners in 15 sections.
Mazero’s previous PR was a 48.03 last April in a meet on his home track in Ithaca, N.Y. His 47.89 is No. 10 in the Ivy League so far this year.
Seven of the eight-fastest times came from the first heat. Mazero bumped all but the first four runners in the fast heat.
At Paul VI, Mazero ran 48.52 for 4th place at the 2021 Meet of Champions in South Plainfield.
