The Mainland Regional and Haddonfield girls ran the two-fastest distance medleys by New Jersey schools this year Friday evening at Boston Nationals.
Mainland and Haddonfield both earned All-America honors, Mainland with a 4th-place finish in 12:05.28 and Haddonfield in 6th with a 12:10.59.
The times are No. 12 and No. 14 in South Jersey history.
Mainland broke the Atlantic County record of 12:11.47 set by Egg Harbor Township at the 2020 Easterns at the Armory. Haddonfield’s time is 6th-fastest in Camden County history, behind four other Haddonfield performances and one by Sterling.
For Mainland, senior Gillian Lovett led off with 3:45.24 leg for 1,200 meters, sophomore Madison Taylor ran the 400 in in 60.68, sophomore Emma Preissman split 2:24.81 to set up junior Sophia Day, whose blazing 4:54.55 moved the Mustangs from 8th place to 4th.
Sophomore Riley Aastin led off for Haddonfield in 3:46.02, senior Stella Stolarick split 1:00.20, senior Anna Stolarick ran 2:22.24 and senior Ava Thomas anchored in 5:02.14.
Dillard High of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., won the race in 11:49.08.
