Senior Jackson Murry won the pole vault, placed 6th in the 400 and anchored the 2nd-place 4-by-4 to help Willingboro’s powerhouse program win its 10th indoor sectional title in the last 14 years.
With 43 points in the field and 31 on the track, Willingboro outscored 2nd-place Robbinsville, 74-42.
The Chimeras’ 10 sectional titles are most by any school in any group in any section.
Willingboro also won Central Jersey Group 1 in 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, Central Jersey Group 2 in 2011 and 2012, South Jersey Group 1 in 2022 and South Jersey Group 2 in 2016.
Murry cleared 13-6 to win the pole vault, sophomore teammate Zahire Bryant was 2nd at 11-0 and junior Kabir Speight 6th. That’s 19 pole vault points.
The Chimeras added 14 points in the high jump with junior Tra’san Adam clearing 6-2 for the win and junior Zaire Wormley clearing 5-10 for 4th place.
And the Willingboro shot putters added 10 points, with senior Julian Williams taking 2nd with a 50-5 throw and senior Derrick Swain placing 5th at 47-1 ½.
Senior Eric Foster won the 55-meter hurdles in 7.71 for 10 more big points
Also, juniors Christian Bryant, Nasier Fields and Theo Pryce joined Murry on the 4-by-4, which ran 3:33.14 for 2nd place, Pryce also placed 3rd in the open 400 with a personal-best 52.18, Murry ran 52.96 for 6th, and senior Rae-Juan Gayle PR’d at 6.55 for 3rd in ther 55.
