Alexis Tepper of Cherry Hill East moved into the No. 7 spot in the mile on the all-time University of Maryland Baltimore County performance list in her first collegiate mile race.
Tepper ran 5:02.80 Friday at the Ramapo College Season Opener at the Armory, placing 2nd to Ramapo’s Dale Leonard, who ran 4:57.05.
Tepper was mainly a 400-800 runner in high school and rarely ran the 1,600 or mile. She had a PR of 5:18.72 from a meet two years ago this week at the Bubble. So this is a 16-second PR in her first 1,600 or mile since December of 2022. She ran 2:17.12 in high school but hasn’t run an 800 yet in college.
