Freshman Terrence Goffney medaled in three events to help Bishop Eustace place 2nd in the Parochial B State Relays Thursday at the Bubble.
Goffney and junior Christian Berardi ran the 200s, senior Christopher Stinson the 400 and senior Ryan Gaulrapp the 800 on the sprint medley team, which ran 3:54.32 and placed 2nd.
Goffney cleared a personal-best 5-0 in the high jump – the first time he’s high jumped in his high school career – and teamed up with Noah Glenn, who PR’d at 5-10, to take 2nd in the high jump relay.
Berardi, Glenn, Stinson and Goffney placed 4th in the 800-meter relay in 1:38.92.
Eustace also placed 2nd in the 3,200-meter relay in 11:50.07, with junior Desmond Carey, junior Ethan Caprarola, senior Matt Colden and sophomore Alexander Dietz running 9:09.27 and 3rd in the distance medley, with Carey on the 1,200, sophomore Massimo Sergi the 400, Gaulrapp the 800 and Caprarola anchoring with the 1,600 leg.
Senior Shawn Brady threw 51-11 ½ – equalling his lifetime best– and teamed up with senior Luca Zanghi to place 2nd in the shot put relay.
