Haddon Township graduate Jake Aylmer, a junior at Stevens, recorded a top-10 finish Saturday in the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships.
Aylmer ran 27:24.5 over 8,000 meters at Misericordia College in Dallas, Pa., and placed 8th out of 132 runners. He was the top finisher for Stevens of Hoboken.
Aylmer had placed 32nd in the conference race as a freshman and 18th last year.
By virtue of his 8th-place finish, Aylmer was named to the MAC’s all-conference first team, becoming the Ducks’ first all-conference 1st-teamer since Stevens joined the MAC in 2019. Stevens spent through 2007 through 2018 in the Empire 8 Conference. Stevens previously was in the MAC from 1946 through 1978 before joining the Independent Athletic Conference and Skyline Conference and eventually the Empire 8 and MAC.
Aylmer returns to South Jersey with Stevens for the NCAA Division 3 Metro Region Championships at DREAM Park in Logan Township on Nov. 11
Aylmer, a quantitative finance major, ran 3:58.30 for 1,500 meters last spring.
