Abby Waddington placed 14th out of over 100 runners and helped Boston University place 2nd in the Patriot League Championships.
Waddington, a freshman from Clearview, ran 22:47.6 over 6,000 meters at the Harry H. Lang course in Hamilton, N.Y., and was B.U.’s 5th finisher.
She was named to the all-Patriot League second team.
Boston University, ranked 7th in the NCAA Division 1 Northeast Region by the USTCCCA, went 1-2-10-13-14 for a low 40-point score, finishing behind only Army, which scored 29 points. Twelve of the first 14 finishers were from either Army or Boston University. Army is ranked 6th in the Northeast Region.
Boston University’s group of five scorers consisted of four freshmen and a sophomore. Four of the top six freshman finishers in the race were Terriers.
Waddington was competing in just her fourth collegiate meet.
Boston University races at the NCAA Northeast Regional at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx on Nov. 10.
