Junior Dawson Baptiste from Delsea placed 2nd among collegians and St. Joe’s edged Penn to win the team title at the Haverford Invitational Thursday.
Baptiste covered the short four-mile course on Haverford’s campus in 20:59.5 and finished behind freshman teammate Michael Glavin, who ran 20:46.1. St. Joe’s 5th runner was freshman Ian Romea of Haddonfield, who ran 22:03.6 and was the 13th collegiate finisher.
St. Joe’s defeated Penn 26-39, with the host Fords 3rd with 57 points.
The first four finishers were post-collegians, including overall winner Bailey Habler, a Villanova red-shirt and a member of the Australian national XC team whose aunt, Leigh Habler, was an Olympic swimmer. Habler ran 20:00.9.
