Kadence Dumas anchor leads Eastern to All-America honors in sprint medley at West Philly Nationals and #11 time in S.J. history!!!!!!!!

Senior Kadence Dumas’s 2:11.83 anchor moved Eastern up from 7th to 5th place in the Championship Sprint Medley late Saturday night and earned the Vikings All-America honors at West Philly Nationals at Franklin Field.

Eastern ran 4:04.00, fastest in New Jersey this year, No. 11 in South Jersey history and fastest in six years.

Senior Johnay Stilley led off for Eastern, followed by junior Lomaria Tengbeh on the second 200, and freshman Natalie Dumas handled the 400 to set up her older sister’s heroics.

The top six teams in each championship race earn All-America honors.

It’s been quite a week for Kadence Dumas, who won the Meet of Champions 800 Saturday with a 2:10.44 at Franklin High and is now an All-America.

Eastern’s time is No. 4 in Camden County history, behind Sterling’s 4:02.60 at 2017 Greensboro Nationals, Wilson’s 4:02.89 at Outdoor Nationals in Raleigh in 2002 and Camden’s 4:03.04 at the 1995 East Coast Relays at Morristown.

Kelsey Niglio’s 2:14.78 anchor gave Cherokee a 4:08.22 and 10th place. Sophomore Veronica Ashcraft and sophomore Morgan Shank ran the 200s and junior Madison Van Haren the 400 settig up Niglio’s anchor. The time is No. 11 in Burlington County history and No. 24 in South Jersey history.
