Delsea on Saturday became the second Gloucester County school in six years to win the Meet of Champions 3,200-meter relay and recorded the sixth-fastest time in South Jersey history.
Seniors George Tenenberg, William Mayhew and Michael Szwed and junior Colin Kane ran 7:46.28 and finished six meters ahead of second-place Mount Olive, which ran 7:47.29.
Delsea broke the Gloucester County record of 7:47.66 set by Kingsway when it placed second at the 2011 Meet of Champions. Delsea’s previous school record and season-best was its 7:49.95 at states. Kingsway won the 2013 race in 7:48.16.
