Woodstown graduate Ta’riq Thomas, a five-time NCAA All-America at Delaware Valley College, recorded an impressive jumps double Wednesday night at the 8th annual Gwynedd-Mercy Mid-Week Twilight Invitational at Gwynedd-Mercy College’s track in Montgomery County.
On a cold, breezy night, Thomas won the long jump by more than a foot at 23-2 and won the triple jump by nearly four feet with a 45-10 1/2. Both are season bests.
According to the Direct Athletics database, he ranks eighth in NCAA Division 3 in the long jump and 18th in the triple jump.
Thomas has PRs of 24-0 in the long jump from a meet this past indoor season at Lehigh’s Rauch Fieldhouse and 48-9 3/4 in the triple jump from a meet last spring at Swarthmore.
Thomas also ran on Delaware Valley’s 400- and 1,600-meter relay teams Wednesday evening.
